Traditional self-adhesive labels consist of a face stock and a liner. When using labels, the face stock must be peeled from the liner either manually or via an automatic labeling machine. Once the face stock is removed, the liner has no further utility, resulting in resource waste and environmental pollution. According to statistics data, billions of tons of silicone-coated release base paper or film are landfilled annually, which contradicts the current environmental principles of green printing.
Linerless Labeling reduces the environmental impact of waste liner at the source, meeting users' dual demands for economy and sustainability.
All of this can be achieved with the innovative HERMAInNo-Liner labeling system, which prints, cuts, activates, and applies labels through corresponding components such as labeling machines, cutting, micro-atomization, and linear units. By utilizing patented multi-layer pressure-sensitive adhesives, thousands of tons of backing paper or film and time-consuming processing can be saved annually. With its end-to-end proprietary technology chain, HERMA delivers a complete solution that is both economically efficient and ecologically advantageous from the very beginning.
Cutting Unit
After printing, the labels are cut to the desired length by the cutting unit. The enhanced flush cutting technology enables millions of cutting cycles, with a straightforward blade replacement process.
Micro-atomization Unit
At the moment of dispensing, the precise and purely water-based activation process ensures that the label adheres instantly, uniformly, and with exceptional strength to the surface. The system consumes minimal water. The operation of filling the water tank is also quick and easy. During the atomization process, the recycled water will be filtered and reused.
Linear Unit
Linear Unit "Vacuum grippers with pressure rollers and integrated sensors for automatic height detection of cardboard boxes ensure the safe operation of the system. The stroke length of the cylinder is 500 mm."
Labeling
Adhesive 82S initially remains in an inactive state, exhibiting no adhesive properties at this stage. Within a fraction of a second, the adhesive activates during dispensing and instantly forms a permanent bond on the surface. This material has demonstrated sufficient adhesion in both laboratory and practical tests.
