Cutting Unit
After printing, the labels are cut to the desired length by the cutting unit. The improved flush-cut technology enables millions of cuts, and the blade replacement process is extremely simple.
Traditional self-adhesive labels consist of two parts: the face material and the release liner. When applying the label, the face material must be peeled off the release liner either manually or via an automatic labeling machine. After removal, the release liner has no further utility, resulting in resource waste and environmental pollution. Statistics indicate that billions of tons of silicon-coated release liners or films are landfilled annually, contradicting the current advocacy for eco-friendly green printing practices.
Linerless labeling eliminates the environmental impact of release liners at the source, meeting users' dual demands for cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
This is achieved through the innovative HERMAInNo-Liner labeling system. This system integrates printing, cutting, activation, and adhesion via components including label applicators, cutting units, micro-atomization, and linear units. Using patented multi-layer pressure-sensitive adhesive, it saves thousands of tons of backing paper or film annually, along with time-consuming processing steps. With its end-to-end proprietary technology chain, HERMA delivers a complete solution offering significant economic and ecological advantages from the outset.

At the moment of dispensing, the precise, pure water-based activation process ensures the label adheres instantly, uniformly, and extremely firmly to the surface. The system consumes minimal water. Refilling the water tank is equally convenient and straightforward. During atomization, the recycled water is filtered and reused.
The linear unit features a vacuum suction cup with a pressure roller and an integrated sensor for automatic detection of cardboard box height, ensuring safe system operation. The cylinder has a stroke length of 500 mm.
Adhesive 82S initially remains in an inactive state, during which the material exhibits no tackiness. Within fractions of a second, the adhesive activates upon dispensing and immediately bonds permanently to the surface. The material has demonstrated sufficient tackiness in both laboratory and field testing.
